Volunteer With Us

Every builder matters

No matter how you get involved, you help build homes, communities, and hope right here in Jackson and Washington Counties. Volunteering, donating, advocating, and collaborating are all essential — and no matter which path you choose, you're a builder.

Build with us on the construction site

Roll up your sleeves and build alongside the families who will call these houses home. No experience needed — we'll show you everything. Whether you come as an individual, a church group, a corporate team, or a community group, there's a place for you on our build sites.

Volunteer at our ReStore

Every shift at our Marianna or Chipley ReStore directly funds our building work. Sort donations, help shoppers find what they need, and keep quality, affordable home goods in our community — all while supporting Habitat's mission.

Make it happen behind the scenes

From organizing events to office admin, there are ways to build with us that don't require a hard hat. If you want to make an impact, there is a place for you.

Volunteer On a Homesite

Construction volunteers are involved with many aspects of building a Habitat home. At the build site, you might be engaged in tasks such as framing, roofing, installing siding, doing finish work, or even landscaping.

We don’t ask our volunteers to bring anything except a great attitude and a willingness to be flexible. Chipola Area Habitat’s construction team will provide the training and tools needed to make a difference that you’ll see and feel at the end of the day.

Neighborhood, school and church groups of up to 12 volunteers are also welcome. No construction experience necessary! Register first and then sign up for a shift here.

Volunteer at a ReStore

Not all Habitat for Humanity volunteer opportunities involve swinging a hammer! Many of our volunteers spend their time helping at one of our Habitat ReStores. At our ReStores, we accept and sell to the public new and used building materials, tools, appliances, and home improvement supplies.

Proceeds from the ReStore help fund Chipola Area Habitat’s mission. This means volunteers are vital to ensure the ReStore remains a sustainable source of funding, allowing us to continue to serve more families in our community.

Community Service Hours: Volunteers seeking volunteer hours or Court-Ordered Community Service hours are required to attend Volunteer Orientation before beginning their volunteer service.

Waivers: All volunteers must complete an annual Volunteer Waiver of Liability. Minors ages 16-17 must bring a completed waiver signed by a parent/guardian prior to volunteering.

Volunteer Orientation

Volunteer Orientation

Every month, we provide an on-ramp to make your volunteer experience great and help you determine your best fit.

It is held on the second Monday of each month, at 10 AM at our Administrative Offices in Marianna.

If you are a church group or civic organization, we will schedule the orientation at your location.
