Women Build 2026 Day 2

Day 2 of Women Build continued the momentum. Over 50 local volunteers worked on the 4th house in Gillis Ridge subdivision.

Joining us were Auburn University Rural Studio, who partnered with us on the design of this house. Known as Sylvia’s house, this 3 bedroom floorplan uses resilient and energy efficient construction to create an affordable home.

With a challenge to beat the record of Day 1, these dedicated volunteers sprung into action and worked together to raise the walls in under 3 hours. You could hear laughter and conversation along with the sounds of saws buzzing, nail guns, and swinging hammers.
