Program Update

Happy New Year! July 1st marked the first day of the new program year for Chipola Area Habitat for Humanity. Even during a time of great uncertainty and many changes, we are so excited about all that we have been able to accomplish with God and the help of our faithful supporters.

Since July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020 we’ve had 5 homeowners pay off their mortgages, and we’ve added 2 additional homeowner families to our roll, for a total of 43 active mortgages in our portfolio. This past program year, close to 100 volunteers logged nearly 1500 volunteer hours between the ReStores and our Construction sites. Our active homeowners contributed $23,000 to the tax rolls, and our ReStores diverted nearly 50 tons of discarded goods from the landfill.

To stay connected with you and all of our supporters, donors, volunteers and families, we’ve launched our new website, we’ve revamped our social media pages, and we’ve revitalized our newsletter.

As we are continuing our Hurricane Michael Disaster Rebuilds, we are determined to help our communities BUILD BACK BETTER. We’re being intentional with our plans and we’re going BIG and BUILDING HOMES!
